Woodstock PG Saturday

Post by mcelrah »

I got my cast off Friday AM. The orthopod happens to be a tow pilot at the sailplane club. Sez I have to wear an air splint for two weeks. Can start foot-launch air sports once I can run. Went and flew a sailplane Saturday; if I can drive, I can work the rudder pedals. Then followed Tom C., Laszlo, Ellis and Matt of Brazil (kinda like Lawrence of Arabia), whom Ellis was observing, to the bridge field in order to drive for them. Contrary to a police report, the road was CLOSED, so they had to hike up the front. Tom and Laszlo ran the ridge to Strasburg, but only Laszlo made it back. Matt ahd a good first flight at Woodstock. Ellis did her trademark wingovers on the way out to the LZ. Everyone stayed up until the got cold or the sun went down. - Hugh
