The Pulpit, Thursday 2/4
Looks like it might be one of the better days this week. Anyone interested?

Alright, Ward.
My mother warned me about people like you.
Anyone else interested? It looks good and it'll be a winter wonderland out there.
C'mon, you know work is going to be slow tomorrow. Let's fly!

Tomorrow’s going to bring great flying conditions to the Pulpit. For February, you couldn’t ask for better - well maybe you could but good luck with that. Plus, it could be your lucky day to star in a DanTuck video! Just imagine how cool it would be to have your flying buddies watch you zoom up and down the ridge while listening to the latest tecno-gaga tune. Who knows, maybe Dan will even let you select the music.

Re: The Pulpit, Thursday 2/4
Today was nice at the Pulpit. Ward and I both got there about 10:30 and decided to fly one at a time so we'd each have a wireman on launch. I got set to fly first and launched around 12:00 into a NNW cross from the new pad. Ridge lift was minimal and I maintained down towards Rt. 16 where I got up. I found a few disorganized thermals and got about 800' over, cruised around awhile and then started to sink out. When I got down to a couple hundred over I basically got drilled and headed out to land for a 25 minute flight. Ward came and got me and we headed up so he could get off. Conditions were very nice when we got back up, pretty much NW, a lot of straight in cycles at 8-12mph. Ward had a real nice launch and found lift quickly. He soared long enough for me to take a bunch of pictures and then get down to the LZ to film his landing! Can't ask for much more in February. Video to come.....

Re: The Pulpit, Thursday 2/4
The still shots from Thursday’s flight were taken with Nikon S620 point and shoot cameras mounted on the ends of the U2’s outer sprogs. I haven’t noticed any issues in the glider’s control behavior while flying with both cameras. The home made/jerry-rigged mounts (hose clamp, pipe hanger tape and quarter inch bolt with lock washers and bolts) and camera weigh 5.5 oz each. The cameras are set to take a photo every 30 sec, which translates to a lot of time sifting through the images to identify a few good ones, but when in the air there are no distractions.
