Things are a bit slow in Florida right now but we had a couple of tandems scheduled yesterday so Lauren and I headed over around 8:30. Dustin is in Brazil so Lauren was flying the tandem and of course, I was flying the tug. Our 914 tug is having an electrical issue so we were towing with Bobby's 582 which can be interesting on hot humid days when the density altitude is way high. Anyway, our first tandem decides she wants to go a mile high and we are stupid enough not to talk her out of it. We droned upward through a low layer of Q's and on into the hazy sky for what seemed like an hour. The climb rate actually varied between 100 and 350 FPM but was mostly below 250. I think it actually took just about 25 to 30 minutes but when you are used to buzzing up there in less than 10 minutes it seemed an eternity. Our other big engined tug heads back from Big Spring today so we will be back to normal soon.
Oh yeah....we now have a 155 Sport 2 available for rent so if any of you are down here for a brief trip and didn't bring your wing, we have something nice for you to fly now.
