The meeting will be held at Karen's and Matthew's house and start at 7.30 pm.
Issues that need to be discussed / taken care of are:
- Facebook and Twitter Representation of our club (David Churchill has been looking into that)
- Updating CHGPA.org with new features that allow for online payment of membership fees and donations, membership management etc.
- Membership status, liquidity of the club and measures the need to be taken to tighten the screws
- Approaching Free Flight Foundation for funds on the Pulpit launch (I'll bring the quote, Matthew)
- Merging the PG and HG fora
- Installation of a Windsock at WS
Have I forgotten anything?

Hey Everyone,
Mark you calendars and be sure to attend the CHGPA semi-quarterly meeting at our house on Thursday (716/09) at 7:30pm. It’s going to be a jam packed meeting with exciting seminars and plenty of new business to discuss.
For starters, Tad will be giving a brief and to the point, as always, discussion on the proper use of wink links for aero-towing. Then….. Mark Cavanaugh and Ellis Kim will be singing a duet—an original tune about the joys of flying as long as possible late in the day. It’s called “Sunset, What Sunset?” And finally, we’ll be answering the big question. What’s better, hang gliding or paragliding? To reach the answer, a top pilot from each discipline will be doing battle in a no-holds barred wrestling match. It’s Tom McGowan vs. Tom Cuenen in the pit of mud in our back yard till one pilot cries defeat.
I’m betting on Tom.
For new business, we have the following topics—
1. The ramps at the Pulpit—are they a safety hazard? Should we tear them down and use the wood to rebuild the pavilion?
2. The finalization of plans to merge with (AKA TAKEOVER) MHGA.
3. Outsourcing all of the club officer duties to Ethiopia—it’s the new India!
4. Re-investing club finances into a hedge fund.
5. Renaming the club to attract a younger audience. Out with the stodgy old Capital Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. In with “The C”.
The club will be providing pizza and snacks. So please RSVP at mcgraham20@hotmail.com and include your choice of pizza toppings.
And don’t forget - CHGPA meetings are always ‘clothing optional’.

And don't forget the discussion of our new club motto:
PS: For the humor-impaired, insert many 'winkies' into Matthew's post.

Re: Summer Meeting::Thursday, July 16th, 7.30 pm
I have one recommendation for discussion to improve the launch between the ramps at the Pulpit. We should put some indoor outdoor carpet down the center. In strong conditions it is difficult to keep from sliding down the gravel. Mount Borah in Australia has done this for many years with great success. Am open to other ideas, but would like to make a good launch excellent.

A great, constructive and productive meeting.
Dan Tuck has taken over the business of chapter renewal, site insurance, collecting membership fees and keeping an active roster. He is facing a lot of work, I am so glad he is doing it. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dan. We will be running a tight ship to afford our members safe and continuous mountain flying. It's simple: If you don't pay you don't play.
Flight Director Bacil Dickert has volunteered to install a wind sock at WS. Let's support him and lend him a hand if he so wishes. Thank you, thank you, thank you Bacil. A wind sock will make this dreaded launch safer and if you need my help, let me know.
David Churchill will represent our club on Facebook, which will increase our recognition amongst those who don't even know there is HG and PG. Send your videos and best pictures to him.
Astroturf will be installed on the new Pulpit launch. Matthew is looking into that right now and I will help him if he so wishes.
HG and PG fora will be merged.
We will continue the region 9 XC contest with the help of Hugh. Let's support him, too.
Thanks to all and blue skies
