omigod, we're running a flight park
Hi,
We've officially lost our minds -- Paul and I are managing a flight park! Actually, I am soooo excited. The place already looks so much better, and I think a few marketing ideas and energy and hard work can make Quest a place that everyone wants to visit and fly. Here's the little blurb I wrote for the OZ report:
Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated: Quest Soaring Center is alive and kickin’ like a springtime thermal. Lauren and Paul Tjaden are the new managers of the renowned hang gliding operation, located just south of Groveland, Florida (about an hour west of Orlando), and are focused on catering to the needs of both new and experienced pilots.
Whether you want to learn to fly, learn to aerotow, brush up on your cross country skills or just get a taste of some soft, Sunshine State sky, make sure to check us out.
Quest also features camping, a clubhouse that is complete with kitchen, showers and several bedrooms, a lake where you can swim or canoe, a volleyball court, a swimming pool, horseshoes, and a picnic area with an available grill – so, you’ll have lots of activities to keep you occupied and happy even when you’re on the ground.
Here’s a link to the Quest Soaring Center website: http://questairforce.com/ . Feel free to email us at info@questairforce.com or call us at 352-429-0213.

Rock on guys
Re: omigod, we're running a flight park
Way to go Paul and Lauren! Quest has a tremendous amount of potential and you two are just the ones to make it happen. Perhaps we could have a comp again some time in the future, eh?

You can't have lost your minds because you already lost them long ago!
Congratulations guys I hope this works well for you.
My experience with you two and Bruce at Quest was a memorable one. At the time Quest was a rather run down shadow of it's former self. The absence of any pilots except for our small group was disconcerting at first. But the humongous field landable in any direction was a treat. I soon enjoyed some of the best flying that I've had in Florida. I certainly intend to come pay you a visit. I hope others from our region do as well. I am sure they won't be disappointed.

Must've been written in the stars. Congratulations on the new adopted baby!
I think you need to do something new that will make you stick out: oo! blow great big soap bubbles filled with helium people can fly through and pop! Wouldn't it be amazing lining up on that glittering pulsating blob in the sky....?

Paul and Lauren,
Big Congrats! Any truth to the rumors that you two will be taking over Wills Wing and saving the US hang gliding manufacturing market by combining the company with the growing market for on-line ADULT hook-ups? What's that new name??? Will Swing?

Wow! That is so cool. I'm going to have to start flying again soon so I can fly there. (Actually I am getting my family life in some semblance of order so that maybe next year I can commit aviation again). Much success!!!

When you mentioned filling in for six weeks I thought it was a career stepping stone and I have been meaning to write to you saying it seemed like a good fit and you should go for it. Looks like you have. Road trip! - Hugh

Ha, since posting, there has been some confusion (the most polite way to put it) about whether we were actually going to be managing or not. I thought it was for-sure when I posted and I think we will be still, but I'll let you know.
In the meantime, I soooo am grateful for all of your support and kind comments. Quest is an awesome flight park that has needed a little more order. I hope all of you will come visit you later and get a taste of our soft, fat Florida thermals -- plus a taste of our Florida flightpark fun.
Fly safe and high and far on the fourth!
Lauren
