Scooter towing in Colorado

Post by Spark »

From Shawn:

Spark took me out to meet Mark Windshimer for the first time and fit in a little flying. I went out to see what was what and check out his operation. I arrived to see Mark issuing a hang2 written to Dean, a pro mountain biker .He passed. Mark set up two 190 falcons and it was game on. He had several students, Spark and I . Mark is a VERY good teacher and person. His motto is safety first and Let's have some fun.Mark has a scooter tow that is a "78"750 cc honda automatic trans!

He had all of us running like a flat slope launch and then....flight. The sequence is: Engine on ... Brake off ... pilots say: clear (get outta my way) ... slack (take up the slack) ... TENSION!!! (game on) ... He had us run!

We had a good day out on the flats of colorado. Straight in constant all day. That is rare. Spark and I had 3 flights each . He had 4 other students that were kicking ass!

Mark worked with me so we could be on page at launch time. He ran me down the field himself and got me off the ground! This is what launch is going to be like etc. He towed me ground skimming, 500, 700. The air is thinner, a new flying scene, a different glider, a different harness( Sparky's).

It was good stuff and fun. At the end of the day mark had us gather round and discuss openly what we learned on this day. He has a good technique, and great happy people skills. I foresee myself working with him in the future.......

Peace, Shawn.
