Hangin' 2 2008

Post by DanTuck »

I made this video about a month ago. It's a compilation of my first season flying hang gliders. A lot of it is recycled from my other videos and not all the shots are of me but it's really just more of a way for me to look back and remember all the fun times. I posted it on Vimeo but not YouTube because it's too long - 14:30. I think it can give any up and coming H-2's in our area a good idea of what you can experience in your first year as a foot launch pilot. If you don't like the music, turn it down! Enjoy.

I'm also a little excited because USHPA has posted it in their videos section. Neato.

I had to watch it again! Some of my favorites include: seeing your glory during the Hyner cloud dive ... watching a sailplane zoom under you at High Rock, and the intermingled dual-perspectives of two exemplary N and S approaches into the Pulpit secondary. This is classic stuff ... and it captures the essence of what I love (and miss) about the mid-atlantic flying scene.

This video is already a classic IMO

Frickin' awesome Dan, great compilation of a great year of flying!

And thanks for the cabin-fever attitude adjustment :D

The mirror-image approaches into the Pulpit secondary at the end of
the video are just too cool. Any chance that you could split-screen
and sync the two of them together? I don't think I've ever seen that
done...

Looking forward to your year of Hang-3 flying already!!

Thanks guys! Glad you liked it. :)
Mark, that's a cool idea. I used Windows Movie Maker to do this video and I know you can't do any split screen stuff with that but I have Pinnacle now and I think you can. I'll have to play with it and see what I can do.
BTW, if anyone wants to download the full res version, which is basically HD but in 4:3 format, feel free. The link is on the lower right side of the page when you're watching the video.
