Folks who really made it happen: The HEAVY LIFTERS

David (TheAmazing) Churchill
Shawn (hepcat) Ray & Mailna
Matthew Graham
Karen Carra
Brian Vant-Hull
Shawn Ray
Rich Bloomfield
Joe Schad
Gary Smith
Shawn Ray
Tony Dilisio
Dan Tuckwiller

Thanks to all the above, as well as other volunteers and workers I missed in the list. I fear I did miss some, and I assure you it was not intentional.

David Churchill-- for getting the prizes for the raffle.

Gary Smith wasn't at the Pulpit Fly-In.

I heartily approve of Shawn Ray being listed twice.

The numbers were smaller, but it still felt like a full fledged party, it wasn't a fight to get a seat at the campfire, and I had a great time. Surprise drop-ins from Jim Rowan, Pete Lehmann, and Ralph added to the festivities.

Hear, hear! The multiple listing was not an error.
Shawn not only did a major one man work day at the site to mow, and not only brought he beer,
On Saturday afternoon, just as flyers were about to return from Bill's, he discovered the keg tap to be broken (bad o-ring).
Shawn drove back into Chambersburg an hour+ roundtrip to be sure we had a working tap and keg.

I had a great time! Malina did too! Thanks to all who pitched in and made The Pulpit Fly -In a memorable event!
The raffle Kicked Ass! ( I felt like a bandit.)
The Fireworks Kicked Mega Ass!
You could fly both days if one chose. I chose not and just hung out to help. I had a pretty full weekend starting Friday Night at The Kixx concert  . Thanks to grill masters Brian and Ashley for hoping in the fire and cooking meat.
Damn "O" rings can grind a machine to a halt or worse!
Good Times!
Peace, Shawn.

Glad it was a success, but please tell those of us who couldn't be there how the flying was.

I don't think ya missed much, except the people, camaraderie, food, excellent fireworks, and most excellent raffle (thanks to David the amazing one) . Saturday we watched... we waited... and watched some more. Finally, someone headed to Bills to check conditions and reported it blowing straight in...light. So... a bunch of us went over to Bills for a sledder.

Sunday AM was light blowing straight in on the norther facing ramp... so they threw the H2's for sledders. I don't know what the afternoon conditions were like.... left around 1-2PM. I heard they weren't much better.

All in all... It was a nice weekend for me.

Sunday at the pulpit was catch as catch can with light winds but some thermal action. I left around 3 when most people had sleds or short soaring flights, but a few managed to stick in the air. After years of flying the Pulpit it was actually my first time making the north approach into the secondary. Diving through the gap in the trees and over the fence is a rush. I think if it had really turned on later we would have heard about it by now.

I should add that blondefest at the mountain house bar was an added attraction. All the young women behind the bar were blonde with hot shorts and black leather chaps. One had fishnets below the chaps. Do they always do this or was this special getup for the biker ride passing through? Worked for me and a few other pilots I shall not mention out of respect for spousal harmony.

I've seen those outfits there before. Small business niche marketing at it's best I'd say.

No flying in Bulgaria today, it rained. Tomorrow I return to Kuwait then Iraq. I hope to see some of you around the Christmas holidays.

Take care and fly safe.

Blond wig, fishnet stockings and chaps-- isn't that what you wear when you fly at Hyner Brian?

Such sheltered people. Standard wear for waitresses at a biker bar. Bacil

It was great seeing everyone at the fly-in although as usual I was "jonesing" to fly. Maybe at the High Rock fly-in if the small falcon or pulse work out. . . keeping my fingers crossed!! The girls had a great time camping out and just generally hanging out.

So how did Dave Proctor do?? He's the only one I know of that went over the back although a number of pilots soared Sunday afternoon. Does anyone know??

Sheila

p.s. Dan Tomlinson - can you please send me your email address to sheilaboyle@hotmail.com? Thanks!
