Just a reminder....
Area pilots have a long tradition of making a donation to Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
if they need to be rescued after a tree landing, and/or if they require medical assistance.
Yes, I know, that's "what they are there for".
But a small donation and thank-you letter can foster some goodwill. And that's a good thing,
since we do not want to be seen as putting an undue burden on EMS. Acknowledgement/
recognition of their efforts can do a lot to prevent problems from building up.
So I hope that Lazslo and Juanito's student will give this some idea some consideration.
Usually, the nearest-responding fire/rescue department is the appropriate recipient,
so for the two recent incidents the Woodstock Fire Department might be the best choice:
Woodstock Fire Department
121 W. Court Street
Woodstock, VA 22664
Phone: 540-459-3242
Fax: 540-459-4610
But if a particular fire/rescue responder (Edinburg, Strasburg, New Market, etc) was
instrumental in providing assistance to a pilot, then please direct your donation as
you feel best.
Very glad to hear that Lazslo's injuries will heal with time, and that Juanito's student
was not hurt!

Re: Donations to Fire/Rescue after crashes
MarkC,
Thanks for the reminder. We donated a decent sum last week to the Woodstock rescue folks. They definitely deserved it.

Hey that's great Lazslo, many thanks for helping us to stay on the good side
of the EMS!
(And sorry about the lecturing tone of my post.... Too many hours dealing
with computers lately!)
Hope you aren't in too much pain from the fall, and/or that you have lots
of good drugs to help. Hang in there!
