Annoyed by having to reshape battens?

Post by RedBaron »

Just checked my battens and saw that one had significantly flattened due to my crash. I don't know about you guys, but I can tell you that I hate nothing more than trying to true battens up. They don't budge on gentle treatment and they will kink if you bend them like you mean it, at least in my hands. Came up with a solution that works very well and, more importantly, allows you to apply precise and well-dosed force. A general tubing bender from a hardware store. They're only 30 bucks and I think they're totally worth it. Thought someone might be interested in this.

Cheers

McGyver

PS: Will true your battens for only $15 per tube :D :D :D :D :D :D

Let them warm up in the sunlight, then go at them, a pipe bender does go a long way (= good).
