Good day early. Was underway by 9am. East to North winds. Kicking up to about 8mph but then died off substantially.... and locking in to a north component. Had two students. Very hot; very humid. MY fat-ass was frying like bacon out there. Fence is up but not the little rope walkway-yet.
Paragliders and hanggliders both getting nice flights.
Now here's the interesting part. I met a very nice paraglider pilot/instructor from Peru. I suck at remembering names so I apologize for not knowing so as to make this tale more legit. Anway.....he went on to tell me that last fall he hooked a thermal on a good day at Oregon Ridge and thermalled out of there....landing in a field across Beaver Dam Road !!!!
I asked if he was a CHPA member of which his response was "yes". I begged him to post that flight on the list server. I mean....that is pretty epic if you ask me! So.....stay tuned for that one if it ever gets posted ! Very cool.
