I'm game--I didn't bring any gear except a PG--though I think there's a good chance I can snivel HG glider and harness. Might be right about snow and ice--have to make sure bring clearing implements (I don't have any since I just came from Florida).

Larry, Marc. The ice should be gone. Bring salt, shovel anyway. I'm seeing W@4 all afternoon and sunny!(Could be a little more at The Pulpit.) What the hell, i'm in. I Need To Get Out! I'll bring salt and shovel as well. I'll check the thread in the AM. I could be up there 11-12ish.
Peace, Shawn.

Looks like center of high passing through south of DC--so winds--what any there are--will turn more southerly as the day goes on. The lapse rates and top of lift don't look like anything to write home about either. South into Virginia looks like the best bet to me--maybe Daniel's?

Launched at 1:00pm. Plentiful light thermals in the 100 ft/min to 300 ft/min range to generally 3000 MSL. Got to 4000 MSL once. Winds were generally L & V but went SW at the end of the day.

I had three instructional sailplane flights at Front Royal (numbers 5, 6 and 7). Nailed the landings, but couldn't stay behind the tug even in stable air. Grob instead of ASK-21, but shouldn't make that much difference... - Hugh
