I'm shutting down the forums for a bit, so that the database contents
will be stable during an initial test upgrade to phpBB3.0 .
No idea how long it will take, this is my first full-scale attempt.
If it drags out, I'll bail on the upgrade attempt, re-enable the forums,
and try again another time.

Re: IMPORTANT : Forum shutdown : Test upgrade to phpBB3
The test went well, so it morph'ed into a real upgrade and we're
now live with version 3.0.0 of phpBB .
The new version of our forum software has MANY new capabilities.
Example: You can now define "friends and foes", which allows you
to see/ignore posts from specific forum users. To do this, login
to the forums, click on 'User Control Panel' near the top of the page,
and then click the Friends & Foes tab.
Note: 'User Control Panel' used to be known as your 'Profile' .
Example: When viewing a topic, posts from users who happen to
be online are flagged as such.
More information about using the new features will be provided
in coming weeks. In the meantime, just take a look around and
experiment a bit.
If you run into problems, start a topic in the Forum Helpdesk forum.
Cheers,

I like the new capabilities. I prefer the old look though. Oh well. Thanks for the work, mark!

You can get a fairly close replica of the old look/feel by setting
your forum 'style' to subsilver2 . See this thread:
