The other day, 1/09/08, I noticed a PG pilot flying over Harrisburg, Pa. Never seen one here before. He was not over downtown, just behind the city, but still over city proper, 3:45 pm. I didn't see any means of power (ppg). Anyone know this pilot? How I can contact that pilot?

thanks

Hi, Rusty-

It sure sounds like that was a PPG. Don't know of anyone doing any towing up there and the nearest mtn PG sites are pretty far from H-burg. The ppg guys are often members of the Dukes of Windsoar, http://www.dukesofwindsoar.com. Lil Slugger are you listening? You can check out their roster for folks in your neck of the woods.

Thanks Daniel
I did not see PPG, but I could have missed it. I was driving when I noticed the pilot, but got to my shop two minutes later and turned around and watched the pilot maintain around 500+- over for fifteen minutes or so, before he/she went out of sight. The pilot was turning and maintaining alltitude. For as low as the pilot was I don't think they would have made it across the river. That day was very warm, possible thermic activitity.

Regardless, the flight was was noted. Would love to hear about it.

Big Kreek - Have you checked out the Waggoner's gap launch on the south-facing ridge near Carlisle?

Yes, I have.

For this situation, that would be a great XC flight.
