This post may be a bit off-topic, but nonetheless it is related to flying...
We desperately need a 'one-stop-shopping' area of our website which is
devoted to presenting information about hang gliding instructional
opportunities in the DC/MD/VA area.
(we'll start with HG, but PG *will* be included too)
We want to highlight the many modes of instruction that are available:
aerotow, foot-launch, scooter-tow, truck tow, golfcart tow. We want to point
out the advantages that each method has to offer. We want to provide fun
and interesting videos and images of how people learn to fly. Etc, etc, etc.
To do this, we need two things:
a) a content/idea person
b) an implement/develop/design person
Janni has volunteered for (a). Now we need (b), someone who can
design the website (probably static webpages, but not necessarily)
and present the information in a compelling way.
This person must be able to :
- develop HTML pages
- integrate images, QuickTime video, etc
- transfer the pages and supporting data files via FTP to a
subdomain of the CHGPA site
Are there any web-savvy pilots out there who would like to volunteer
their time and effort for this project? If you have these skills, this
project would be a way that *you* can *DO* something about the
slide in pilot numbers that we've seen in recent years.
