The kindness of strangers

Post by jimrooney »

When I showed up at Woodstock for the flyin, I ran into lots of old friends. Alex was there with some of his friends and asked if I had brought a tandem wing as they would be interested in flying if I had. Unfortunately I didn't.

I didn't think much of it till I heard that Alex had won the ten tow package in the raffle... and traded it for a tandem for one of his friends. Now that's a friend for ya.

So Brett shows up the next day at Highland. The weather's not great, but promises to be better later. We wind up shooting the breeze for a bit and doing some footlaunch and groundhandling stuff while we're waiting for the weather to break. This is where things get interesting....

See Brett's on a bit of a mission.
He's got these 50 things he's out to do before going home. One of them happens to be hang gliding. He's travelling around the country "couchsurfing" and checking things off his list. It's quite the story, but best to hear from him on his website.
