Can't fly today...But was looking toward tomorrow and
some of the forecasts are calling NNW 10-15. If true,
might not be a bad day at High Rock, especially with
overnight lows in the 50s. Maybe even a late day
glass-off, if it's not too north.

It's definitely a Sac day, but I'm just not up for that

Awesome day. Got two flights in. Scratched on the first one for half an hour and then rushed back up for another. 2nd launch not so good. Stalled wing but recovered, tried to two step run off and popped up. Bad monkey 
Anyways, good day and almost got 4 grand on 2nd flight. Lots of people there and good flights.

Had to get high to stay up. I got to 1225 over and still ended up with a 15 minute flight. Must be some kind of record. Second flight I barely broke 700 over, but got 25 minutes. Both times I got caught by the sink monster. Others reported losing 2000 feet in sink cycles.

What a frickin' fantastic day at the Rock!
Nearly 3 hours, broke 6000 MSL three times, flew out into
the valley a bunch, and toured PenMar park and Camp Louise
from the air.
Unbelievably good lift, with 700-900 fpm routinely seen on
the averager. I think I had better lift today than ANY of my
flights of this spring.
Good crowd: Daniel B, Dave B, Joe B, Alek, Glen, Janni, Leonie,
Gregor, Chris D, Gene, George, Tim, and probably a few others.
A North/South blue street which set up just past the LZ prevented
us from punching very far upwind. Could/shoulda/woulda
coordinated on an XC flight to the south, but everyone was in
a rush, nobody on the radio, yada-yada-yada.
Still, a very fun day and a very active sky. Can't wait to hear
how the pilots at the Sac and Cumberland did.

It is the time I spend with Steve (BlueSky) trying to stay up after a truck tow. AGL, yeah I was happy ear to ear. Would've went to BlueSky today but taught my daughter how to change a flat. We ended up rotating her tires. I said "might as well, that way you have good hands on with the jack" Had I known she was going to cry trying to lift the tires on, I should've went to BlueSky. She is okay now just mad at me. Miss flying with you BVH.

Aahhh, what a great day at HR. Had to promise Leonie that I wasn't gonna fly so instead we explored the woods down below for something that was originally supposed to be a pleasant hike. Asked Mark for quick directions as how to get to the trail from the LZ and off we went. Well, we found one that runs parallel to the rail road but at one point we thought we were too far South of the rock, so I had the brilliant idea to cut short through the woods. 4 hours of rock climbing, log jumping and scratching our legs open on twigs, thorns and who knows what the forest showed mercy and spit us out where we started. Seriously, Leonie thought she was gonna spend the night in a cave like in that English Patient movie. She still wants to kill me...
Chris flew my glider in the evening and I was quite jealous to see him on my other girl. Boy, she flies not bad at all with an appropriately sized pilot LOL! It's actually a floater once you're in the optimal weight range! Who'd have thought? Glad you guys had great flights. It was a real joy to watch you from our emergency cave.

I had thought my directions were ok:
- head right down the main road a couple hundred yards
- cut in and bushwhack uphill
- cross the tracks
- bushwhack uphill to obvious/wide trail
- turn right, go maybe a couple hundred feet, tops
- bushwhack uphill again
- intersect the second trail
- turn right and follow it to the top of the mountain
But in retrospect I didn't convey much by way of distances,
or that the bushwhacking can get steep and rough in some
places.
