Sat/21: Pulpit? Other?

Post by John Anderson »

PG luminaries,
What plans for tomorrow-- Saturday/21?? Anyone headed to the Pulpit? I was thinking of dusting off my HG and my launches at Smithsburg early AM (or, blow off the bonewing if a friend and PG debutant joins with me for some PG kiting/ demo runs at Smithsburg) and then head to Pulpit with plans for PG, if anyone else might be flying there.
If, on the other hand, the drift were toward Woodstock, I suppose I might succumb to groupie effect. Any wisdom?

Try the Pulpit Sunday. Too much north tomorrow. WNW to W on Sunday. Perfect for paragliders.

I received the e-mail below:

Good Day,
I am visiting the D.C.area this weekend and was wondering if anyone was getting together to fly (PG) and where. I am a P-3 from CA, AK and CO but have not flown back east and am not familiar with any sites in the area.
I would appreciate any info, names/numbers that might helpful now or for future reference.
Thanks

Paragliders flying The Pulpit today -- in Pennsylvania -- about 1 hour 45 minutes north of Washington DC. Where are you.

Well that was fun gang! Glad it was a good sunny and flyable day for a change... Wonder how many miles Juanito ended up going? Nice work!

Zak, nice to meet you. My email is jwe@eggz.us and let's fly in CO sometime!

past along from Zak:

Well, for a forum that does not get a lot of attention, I sure did.
Thanks so much for the day.
Great day at Pulpit (sp) with Juan, Charlie, Jeff, Lazlow and more. Juan was just getting to know his new wing and managed to squeeze 40k out of it why the rest of us were trying to decide if it was flyable.
A magician in every crowd.
Best
