too much fun!

Post by Lauren Tjaden »

The season has begun. Our friends -- like Kevin, with his eternal optimism and high spirits -- have begun to arrive in Florida, and we literally have too many toys and people to play with.
I had a wonderful, long flight on the Litespeed a few days ago, and then took a day off (thankfully, it was cloudy; we were all tired from our first long flights in awhile).
The next day, Bruce, a pilot I met at Wallaby, flew his Sea Ray into Quest so I could see what it was like to take off and land from water. It's COOL! We dead-sticked the little plane into some lakes -- really weird, to float around in a plane with your ass below water-level.
On our arrival back at Quest, our friends Cindy and Geo had arrived from Ridgely in their Cessa; they'll be staying with us. We watched Steve Wendt run his scooter tow clinic -- great fun -- and played with his huge Condor gliders. Then Jamie and I decided to fly tandem, and got laughing hysterically before landing (I was screaming; its SCARY to fly on top, and Jamie got to be the 'man'). We enjoyed rib-eyes at our home before crashing.
Yesterday Paul and I broke down at 7 AM, before the storms, but it got nice later, so I set up the Falcon for a quick flight. Marilyn lent her Falcon to Dave, a paralyzed pilot, and he had a great time as well. We finished the night at the Oyster bar.
Our old friend Julie, and Cragin, and Rich and Jen and too many others to name are here! Come on down; the party is just starting. .. but not today, ugly storms are a comin'.
