MEETING! ** Thursday January 25th ** MEETING!

Post by Matthew »

Hey All,

We'll be having the first CHGPA meeting for the year on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Takoma Park Community Center at 8:00pm in the Azalea Room.

7500 Maple Ave-- at the corner of Route 410 and Maple Ave. It's just short walk from the Takoma Park Metro Station.

The Azalea Room is on the main level on the left just before the double doors.

Please welcome our new Officers for 2007!

Hugh McElrath : President
Karen Carra : Secretary

Our thanks to outgoing president Daniel Broxterman (2 years) and outgoing
Secretary Ralph Sickinger (1 year) for all that they've done for the club.

In particular, Daniel deserves recognition for the over-and-above work
he did for multiple Pulpit Fly-Ins (finding donors for fantastic raffle prizes;
sprucing up our 'look' with new banners that were donated to the club),
and for enhancing the club's profile at multiple aviation events. Thank
him next time you see him!

And of course, thanks all around to those who've contributed their time
and effort to keep CHGPA active and our mountain sites open.

Congratulations Hugh & Karen! I would of been there last night and had planned on attending right up until Tuesday night when I came down with the flu. I spent all day Wednesday and half the day Thursday in bed. I'm sure you would of loved me to spread the wealth!

My new wing gets here within the next 2 weeks so hopefully I can hit the training hill and join you guys in the air ... of course, once it warms up again! :)

I'm sure Sally's gonna love referring to Hugh as "Your Excellency" for the next 2 years!

Hugh, you sucke-- I mean, congratulations on winning the highly contested race for Prez! (Call me, and I'll help you with your wave -- the trick is to think of screwing a lightbulb in and out. It may seem trivial but it's important for all those photo ops with the press.) Many thanks to Daniel for his work and diplomacy as Prez -- and the long-suffering, non-complaining, ALWAYS volunteering Karen should be given a medal. I miss you guys.
