The "W" bird

Post by Paul Tjaden »

Within the last few days Lauren and I have noticed that we have a pair of cardinals living in our font yard. Apparently they are mating and the male (bright red of course) keeps seeing his reflection in our dining room window and believes it to be another male trying to horn in on his territory. Every day he slams into the glass trying to attack his imagined opponent every 30 or 40 seconds for an extended period of time before finally giving up only to return the following day to give battle once again.

He seems to have completely mastered the "stay the course" philosophy. Now I'm waiting to see if he shows up with a friend for a day or two and see if he's figured out the new "surge" technique for winning wars.

BTW, He also seems to have about the same IQ as the prez.

At least the male cardinal has the instinct and courage to defend his home and family, unlike the liberal weenies in the US and Western Europe whose favorite bird is the cowardly yellow canary who flees at the first sign of danger.

Did anyone see former Dem Mayor Ed Koch's column calling President Bush " A HERO" for his stance on Iraq and the GWOT. I'll find it and post a link shortly.

Why President Bush is a Hero
By Ed Koch
President George W. Bush, vilified by many, supported by some, is a hero to me.

Why do I say that? It's not because I agree with the President's domestic agenda. It's not because I think he's done a perfect job in the White House.

George Bush is a hero to me because he has courage. The President does what he believes to be in the best interest of the United States. He sticks with his beliefs, no matter how intense the criticism and invective that are directed against him every day.

The enormous defeat President Bush suffered with the loss of both Houses of Congress has not caused him to retreat from his position that the U.S. alone now stands between a radical Islamic takeover of many of the world's governments in the next 30 or more years. If that takeover occurs, we will suffer an enslavement that will threaten our personal freedoms and take much of the world back into the Dark Ages.

Oh! So that's the reason for the war in Iraq?

There've been so many I just keep losing track, silly me!
