Do we have published (or unpublished) operating frequencies that we typically use at our various sites? I'd like to get them plugged into the memory of my radio so I don't have to punch them in every time. Also, when I arrived at Woodstock the other day I went to the landing zone first and tried to call launch using 14647.5, but no one replied - I later found out that everyone was using a different frequency.

Re: Ham Operating Frequencies
Charlie,
Traditionally, we have been using 146.470 and 147. 460. However, we often get a lot of interference from ground-based hams on 146.470. Some pilots also use 146.995.
I was told that some of the PG crowd were using 146.475 (as opposed to 470) because one of the pilots had a defective radio and could only tune to the .005 increment. That story may be apocryphal.

My dream is that we would all have radios--and that we'd always have them on and monitoring the same freq. Individual pilots could agree to go to some other freq while flying. But we'd use the "official" site freq for more public communications. But, I'd probably have greater success herding cats.
