Back in the USSR.. ok, NZ

Post by jimrooney »

Howdy all :)

Thought I'd drop a line from the other side of the world. Summer finally arrived here.... it's been a cold spring. Flew into Nelson and got a bit of flying done there. Typical springtime stuff... not many good days though. I'm down in Queenstown again and the weather's finally come right. I'm living on launch these days... they rent out the ski challets up here. It's all good fun. We're above the treeline, so you can land just about anywhere... just mind the powerlines here and there. Should be an interesting summer.

(Gritting teeth trying to maintain a positive attitude about this while looking out the window from my high-rise office building at a gorgeous unseasonably warm day) Merry Christmas, Jim! Congratulations on making correct life choices so you can live in a ski chalet on launch as a second summer comes in. (Whew, did it!)

Jim, are you staying at Coronet or going back to Nelson?

No worries man... I'll be the guy welcoming you to Walmart soon enough ;)

I'll be staying in Queenstown for the duration I think. I'm teaching a bit of paragliding, but mainly just pissing off... I've seen lots of NZ already. We're all planning a trip over to Omarama and Dunedin at some point. All of NZ's fun and all, but Queenstown's where it's at.

Have fun, Jim! Of course, that was never much of an issue with you..
