I think that I told everyone I'd be able to get my add on sail plane rating in a couple of weeks when I started back in mid July. Guess I was a little optimistic. With trips out of town, occasional bad weather and other excuses it took a bit longer. Anyway, my FAA check ride pilot very generously excused my scew ups and gave me my new rating this AM.
Now we'll see if Lauren is brave enough to go for a ride.

Woohoo! Big congratulations - you move fast! Still pawing the ground about going for the my trike checkride - studying FARs, mostly. Flew a little over an hour today in clear, smooth, calm conditions. Went from Front Royal around Signal Knob to Strasbourg and along the ridge to Woodstock, then back over and shot a straight-in approach on runway 9 (actually did a button hook and entered downwind on a 45 like you're supposed to). The point was to actually fly the VASI instead of helicoptering in to the runway as trikes are wont to. Put the tires right on the number. I'll take a ride with you! - Hugh
