For Danny Brotto:
I promise this is related somehow: a sailplane and towplane pilot I met this weekend is planning a trip to Spain and wants to learn winch launching technique. What was that location on the Costa del Sol for hang-or paragliding? Would there be a sailplane operation near there because of good thermals, etc? I'll cross-post this to the HG side in case Danny will read it... - Hugh

Hugh, the PG spot in southern Spain is most likely Almunecar.

PS: Don't know about sailplane opportunities there

south
the area is kind of saturated with flying guides in winter
I used to fly there and I liked it , from the Sierra Nevada till El Bosque a magic area to fly!! In fact I learned thermalling there in winter (1995).
An old time friend settled , has a hotel and guides as the best
