Pulpit Fly-In : Sept 16th & 17th : Support Your Sports

his is just a reminder that we are only nine days away from the 14th Annual
McConnellsburg Hang Gliding and Paragliding Festival!

New pilots, old pilots, mountain pilots, flight-park pilots... All are welcome
for a weekend of flying, feasting, and fun. The Festival website has maps,
directions, XC info, waivers, and everything else you might need to learn more:

(Apologies to the PG-folk about the lack of a "PG" in URLs, email addresses
and such. The PG launch at The Pulpit is relatively new, and I simply
haven't had time to change the nature of all those links. No disrespect
intended, we want to see you there too!)

Participation in this event helps support CHGPA, but more importantly, our
sports in general. You can help provide an idea of what free-flight is all about
to the public at large, and perhaps even attract a few future pilots. Merely
showing up will help make the efforts of this year's organizers (the raffle;
the party; PR) much more effective. The more pilots the better!

But there's more! Don't forget the charitable aspect of our Fly-In. Proceeds
from registration, T-shirt sales, and raffle ticket sales allow us to make a
donation to the McConnellsburg Rescue Squad. We've been doing this for
years, and it's a very worthy cause. I'm not sure, but I think our last check
was for $500? We need you there to continue this tradition.

But wait, there's even more! You also get to fly, and you also get to party,
and you also get to enjoy some great fireworks, and.... You also have a
chance to win some fantastic prizes in the Pilot Raffle that Daniel Broxterman
is working on. You might remember some of the prizes from last year: Blue-Eye googles,
Kestrel windmeters, DVDs, Tow packs, CDs, books, logo-apparel... What
will this year bring? Daniel will be sending out a few hints soon, I'm sure.

We are a bit disorganized this year, so online pre-registration isn't an
option at the moment. So you might want to print out one of the text
registration forms and bring it with you :

Lastly, remember that our Festival features a For-Fun XC Competition,
with awards to both individuals and teams. So hook up with some buddies
and make plans to clock off some miles and bring home some trophies
and awards.
