Joe Brauch was there first and at about 11 am reported winds blowing in at 10-15. Arrived there with Janni and his lovely girlfriend, followed by Matthew, Karen, Judy and Hugh. Mathew launched his paraglider first, but decided he didn't like the speedbar so much, so landed. Joe launched into stronger conditions with thermal activity, but we didn't see him get more than a few hundred feet above launch, followed by Dave Bodner, who did the same. We decided if we waited it might mellow out, so ran a shuttle. We arrived not long after Dave landed in the top of the primary (front part is still planted over or overgrown), followed shortly by Joe going into the secondary.
By the time we had them packed up and at the top, it was blowing like stink. Who ordered that? Tried waiting it out, but it never calmed down. Glen and a couple of his relatives finally arrived after being stuck in traffic due to an accident on 70. Time spent at the bar, time spent hanging around at launch, finally bagged the gliders. A few of us stopped in at Brewer's Alley in Frederick for late night beer and gourmet pizza. We don't go there enough.
Did anyone try High Rock?

1100 over, 45 minutes
Got the altitude but not Craign's required 1 hour to be a good flight.
Went from 400 over at the knob south of launch to the secondary LZ in 4 minutes. Cleared the trees to the north with 50' (heading south)and was on the deck 1/2 way up the hill.(1/4 of the field) Nice flush!
