Daniel's Saturday 1/28

Post by Matthew »

Good day at Daniel's with mulitple flights. Marc and I did lots of Observing. Hugh took 3 PG flights. Lazlo had 4. Karen had 2 and John A and John M. each had one. I got 35 minutes on my first flight in very light thermals and had a ten minute end of day scratcher after seeing off the P2s for their final flights of the day. Marc nabbed about an hour on one of his 3 flights and John M. go a little over an hour.

HGs included Dave B., BVH, Mark C. and Craig.

Beautiful warm day but not as great as Dickeys. It was actually crossing out of the South most of the day. Pulled up condition checks which showed South at Charlottesville all day, SW at Winchester most of the day, West from 11 till 2 at Altoona-- pretty much straight in at all of the sites during the middle of the day.

Glad everyone got to fly at so many sites.

I sure had a fun flight and was amazed by Finks glide out into the valley. It didn't seem like he was sinking hardly at all. Daniels is sure a beautiful area but the road up is awful. I was a bit bummed about not being able to teach that day because of lack of students but it was really great to get to fly my pg.
