Ho Ho Ho-- X-mas Eve Flying
Moderator: CHGPA BOD
We had a full house at Woodstock Christmas Eve. Bruce, Joe S., Marc F., Matthew, Karen, Carlos, Adam, Janni, Glenn, Dave B. and I flew HG until a flush cycle claimed most (Matthew survived) and it started raining gliders around 3pm. Laszlo and Charlie (joined by me and Matthew in a late end-of-day cycle) flew PG. Abundant lift, unlimited visibility and some winter thermals - what a Christmas present! I got 75 minutes and 2000 over. Bruce got to 3000. Laszlo and Glenn had low saves. Dave had his first mountain double surface flight. Janni flew Bruce's 225 Falcon. - Hugh

Hi Guys,
This really brings back great memories of those rare times at WS when everyone was there and you had to wait in line to find room to set up. Wish I could have been there.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Oh Yeah. It's been 80 degrees down here for the last week or so but no flying due to strong winds or thick cloud cover.

X-mas Eve Fun
Great Day at the Stocker. Haven't flown there in forever. Was one of the last ones off in a HG and really had to struggle to get above launch. Meanwhiel Karen is out in the valley (la di da) stinking high!!!
Got lucky and caught a good one as a big sink cycle came through after a half hour-- leaving just me and Lazlo in his PG in the sky. Charlie then joined us and I spent most of an hour with the two PGers. Got 1:30 and 1800 over. Went out to land to catch a ride in the PG. Got back up to launch as Hugh waited for a PG Observer. Of course, then the wind died. A cycle of 5mph blew in and Hugh had a beautiful launch in his Ozone Buzz. I laid out my canopy in time for the wind to again die as we watched Hugh go out to land. With a puff of 2mph I did a running backwards reverse launch, stumbled on a rock when I turned around and almost fell. Kept running and used up almost the whole slot. WON'T DO THAT AGAIN!!!!
The air was pretty bouyant and I could maintain zero sink when deep in the brakes. Lost a bit everytime I turned. Yet I managed to eak out a ten minute PG flight.
Need another day like that... and then bring on the snow!!!!!
