Kite Festival Postponed

Post by Matthew »

The Kite Festival has been postponed until Sunday. Anyone who can still help out on Sunday, please contact me at mcgraham20@yahoo.com.

It's looking kinda blown out for Sunday right now. Might be doable late on Sunday at Woodstock.

I'm still in Matthew, regardless of the chances of a late-day
WS flight on Sunday. Will bring chairs, kites, wind spinners,
some promo stuff I found at home, glider, bike, the whole
nine yards! :)

Kite Fest NO GO!

Post by Matthew »

We have a wind advisory for DC of NW 25-30 with gusts to 50 till 8:00pm Sunday evening. There's no way we can secure a glider down in these conditions, especially now that the ground is saturated and the screws won't hold. It would be just plain insane and dangerous to try. With more rain coming through in the AM, I'm pulling the plug on the Kite Fest. I don't want to have anyone sitting around in wind gusts up to 50mph at flimsy card tables trying to hand out leaflets that we'll be blown away.

At 10:30am on Sunday-- it's currently rainng and there is a wind advisory: NW 25-35 with gusts to 60mph in DC, gusts to 70 at higher elevations.

I'm amazed that no on has posted about going to Woodstock :)
