why do i hate bush?
because i want the terrorists to win.
in a way, it Does boil down to a lot of 'us' being a bunch of Bush 'haters'
You lib Bush-Haters don't start from "I want the terrorists to win", but you do end there.
You start from "I hate Bush"........ because he stole the election, he was selected and not elected, he is an idiot, smirking, strutting, Christrian, frat boy, silver-spooned daddy's boy who cannot speak english. As you yourself have admitted, Bush is problem #1. Once you start from this perspective, teaming up with others to embarass and defeat Bush becomes easy, even if it means wanting the terrorists ( the OTHER Bush-haters) to win.
The more accurate statement for you Bush-Haters is: Because I hate Bush, I want the terrorists to win so as to defeat and embarass Bush abroad and thereby allow us libs to gain political advantage here at home.
Marco
okay: why do "I hate Bush" ?
quote: "because he stole the election, he was selected and not elected, he is an idiot, smirking, strutting, Christrian, frat boy, silver-spooned daddy's boy who cannot speak english. (and therefore) As you yourself have admitted, Bush is problem #1. Once you start from this perspective, teaming up with others to embarass and defeat Bush becomes easy, even if it means wanting the terrorists ( the OTHER Bush-haters) to win."
and why am i (quote:) "wanting the terrorists ... to win." ?

again, why do "I hate Bush" ?

seems a little wordy to me, no?

i admit to being a bit lazy on that circular logic thing, but the pointlessness of trying to explain it to one so aflicted... the irony had me spinning.
besides, i've been very encouraged by the exciting work being done with 'teflon sycophantic deviants'*. a deeper comprehension of this red state scourge may, it is hoped, soon lead to effective treatments!
that, as well as the breakthrough theory of the 'Reasonvoid Certainty Delusion'* (whereby the very act of attempting to comprehend something changes, for the afflicted, that which is to be comprehended) has provided an organizing concept and afforded me a long sought sense of equilibrium and in my world view.
*previously grouped together by leading experts under the heading:
wanting the terrorists to win?!
Fucking Asshole!!
you know, in case you thought your calculated, creepy, masochistic (and at the same time) sadistic offensiveness was overlooked.
there. have i given you proper satisfaction?
no? well, you'll just have to schedule a root canal (and probably insult the dentist's mother while he's doing it).
i know, i said i'd always be here for you. but i've Got to get back to my hampster wheel.
what was that one about the weird turning pro?!

I know Ralph Peters. Writes great "travel" books about Third World shit holes and novels about "warriors" who are the meanest motherfucker in the valley etc. In some ways he's a smart man, but all the macho talk - and the way it shuts off rational thinking - is exactly what got us in this mess.
My son is in town visiting before he deploys to Djibouti. The Marine security force there that his unit will be replacing has apparently been throwing things from their vehicles at locals as they drive by - this while most of the activity of those they are guarding is civil affairs - "hearts and minds" stuff - vaccinating babies, digging wells, building schools. More of that no-brain macho stuff is not what we need...
Yup, Bush is definitely a large part of the problem: he never could articulate the case for the war - Tony Blair had to do it for him. He couldn't mobilize much of a coalition - the Europeans hate him. Of course Cheney and Rumsfeld bear a large share of responsibility. They've all been consistently behind the power curve on the insurgency. They were surprised?! As you mention, we're still in South Korea - they tolerated us for 50 years, but now they'd like us to leave. (Eisenhower struck a deal, giving up half the country.) Try occupying Canada and see how long it takes before they start with roadside bombs (the Quebecois did it in the 60s).
Statecraft involves mobilizing public opinion and other nations in favor of your policy. As a communicator, Bush sucks. Not sure what he's good for...I hear he's a good mountain biker.
But calling people cowards who disagree with the policy? (To his credit, Bush is not guilty of this.) Like I said, I've met Peters. I think I could whup his ass... - Hugh

ah... what the heck. i'll go ahead and post this, take him just for grins...
i may have subconciously picked up a separate thread of metaphoricality in that post (huh? - you know, hidden messages!) and reflexively, nervously moved to obscure it.
if there was one, the denseness of the subtlety may have rendered it mostly impenetrable anyhow.
but wait! you May have been going for subliminal! hmmmm... diabolical! could work!
(i gotta quite watching those 'batman and robin' reruns) (well, at least watch them sober)

...coping ... positively redirecting energies... become real issues... consequences ... for a generation. ... take the 2008 election ... many fine young men and women ... political process grinds along...
(the mall&satire&foolishness are weak palliatives)
(marco (sincerely) - grant me a pass on this one. thanks. gary )

abstract concepts.
come into focus but wax and wane.
corny thoughts most times.
grasped at, wrestled for meaning at others.
political process grinds along.
hear the news. listen to the talk.
having certainty almost seems enviable.
but come up short. pissed off feels honest.
people choose, are asked to serve.
they may know why, may feel solid.
hope they do, but who knows.
others sort of know they're there.
many fine young men and women.
political process grinds along.
political bullshit and crap.
sounds dispiriting and soul robbing.
but maybe its just the words.
fine young men and women die.
it Can't be for nothing.
it Has to be important.
a political process grinds along.
a process asked for and protected by constitution.
so if dusted off a bit,
maybe they're both the same rose.
makes me feel less pissed off.
i'll post before i get any more self-conscious.
