'acme blues company' tonight at bangkok blues, which is under new management. daryl ( not that daryl, the other brother daryl who ran sound for the place), and his wife took over the place at the beginning of the month. he's good people and they hope to reverse the bullshit manner in which the place was run by jon vue. they've already dropped some of the menu/drink prices and hope to get the food back to its old standards, as well as make other changes. the way-cool 20 ft GuitarBar, a detailed replica Modeled after a Paul Reed Smith Mcarty Model Gold Top. (which i did a little bit of help/work on, i'm proud to say) has been in place since last fall. acme blues is in the running for the dc blues society wammy award this year, and members sometimes back clarence turner, who was recently selected by the dc blues society and represented them in the regional competition in memphis.
so, if it ever crosses your mind, show some support to some good, hard working, small business folks, just strugglin' against 'the man' ! the backbone of the country! just trying to make their american dream come true!
