I can't subscribe separately from Paul

Post by Paul Tjaden »

Hi,
Marc kindly said he registered me on the site, even giving me a password, so readers can tell which posts are from Paul and which are from me before opening them. However, when I pull up the website, evrything is registered in Paul's name, and I see no place to add mine. When I pull up "subscriptions" I am simply allowed to choose which ones we want. Anyhow I am obviously not tremendously knowledgable about computers but some help would be great!

Lauren,
Your web browser program probably is set to remember the login at the website. When you go to the forum, your PC automatically logs in for you, using Paul's information.
2 Solutions:
1. Path of least resistance: when you go to the page like you do now, and see that you are on as Paul, click on the Log out link, then log back in as yourself.

2. More trouble than it might be worth: dive into the browser Preferences, delete the entry for the auto login at the forum, then both you and Paul be sure to avoid clicking the "remember this information" box each time you log in.

Craig's right....

When you initially access the CHGPA forum website and click
on the "Log In" icon, a page comes up where you can enter
your forum username and your forum password.

Just below that is a little checkbox, with a description of
'Log me on automatically each visit' .

If you check on that, then your forum username and password
are saved as a 'cookie' by your web browser. From then on,
when you click on 'Log In', the username and password are
sent automatically.

That's very convenient... unless you happen to share your
computer with someone else ;-)

One solution : If your browser allows you to see and remove
cookies, remove anything that you have from chgpa.org .
And from then on, make sure that both you and Paul do not
check that little box .

Second solution : Once logged in as Paul, hit the "Log Out" button,
then hit "Log In" . If you are lucky, the cookie won't be used for
the second login attempt, and you can use your own username
and password.

Let me know how it goes!
