Hey Joe,
Here's how I sees it:
Jan '09 End of an Error: TRUE-- Repubs will end the error of a Democrat House and Senate by recapturing both, and hit the trifecta by winning the Presidency as well...Go Jeb !!!
George Bush: Creating the DEMOCRACIES so that our kids will NOT have to fight the Terrorists in the future.

You gotta keep up....see link below.

Okay, Marco....if it's a democracy we have to prop up for it to continue to exist, is it a real democracy?
Cuba felt it was a successful communist country until Russia dumped it.
I don't think you can make comparisons to NATO after WWII: the Europeans actually wanted us there.
btw...I admire your continued willingness to be the face of neo-conservatism on this listserver. Us libs would just be squabbling amongst ourselves without you. Just wanted to make sure someone said "thanks" every now and then.

so...it WAS the crankiness.brianvh wrote: Us libs would just be squabbling amongst ourselves without you. .
well, if we didn't squabble a bit:
1) we wouldn't be 'democrats' (only stated to be such for the purpose of making a point).
2) 'preaching to the choir' or arguing 'within an echo chamber' can be a dangerous, self delusional thing.
3) we'd be at risk of being called incestually self-sycphantic (That twists your head around a bit, doesn't it) by someone(!)(not named).
4) squabbling, crankiness and 'eating your own' should be Revered in a democracy!
5) they only play the first half so they can get to the second half (phootball, you know - the superbowl? - has me somewhat diverted from the normal cantankerous state (i've come to appreciate the Real value of watching televised sports and reading the sports page ( since i'm TOO MUCH OF A FRICKING OLD FART TO ENJOY HAVING MY HEAD CLEARED BY STANDING AT THE EDGE OF A CLIFF AND ENJOYING THE PHILOSOPHICAL CONTEMPLATION OF, "HHMMM? WHERE EXACTLY IS IT THAT I'M NO LONGER EARTHBOUND AND I'M .... !!!CLEAR!!! ... NOT!")
But, yes - 'whipping boys' have always served a valuable role in society.

somewhat serious note.
i counted on my fflying buddies to give me the unvarnished truth (even if i made them suffer for it!).
i assumed (naively? 'hope not) that the biggest favor i could grant to any other pilot was to give them Any criticism that i could come up with, trusting myself that it was intended as constuctive. better they were improved and safer and thinking me an asshole than otherwise(!)).
i realize the squabling comment was a 'toss away', but, in an honest discussion(?), anyone calls anyone on anything they feel like making an issue of, big or small, and 'proper perspective' assumes that it is done not simply to be an a-hole. for exercise, for amusement, for sharpening - for the 'exercise' of argueng - plenty of reasons. if you let 'it' pass, you are cowardly calling the person an asshole in the patronizing, unassailable, uncontestable superiority of your own mind.
good luck(to anyone) with that.
some would argue that ,THAT'S HOW WE F**KING ENDED UP IN THE MESS WE'RE IN!
back to the ball game.
