Got to the front gate at Tower Road at 1:45 pm. The hike up was 40 minutes, nice walk in fairly warm, sunny weather. The road looked fine, very little snow/ice on it, even at the top. It was fairly windy at launch, I measured 15 mph occasionally. Climbed up to the tower, and measured 18 mph there. Waited for about 10 minutes, at launched at 3 pm. Got picked up pretty fast (with the risers still twisted), but rotated back to normal quickly and flew out from the slot. It was going up everywhere, and I was soon 1000 over. At that point had to pget on the speedbar to penetrate -- the wind must have been about 25 mph. Slowly managed to get over the valley, and flew for 1:30 minutes. By then I was cold and decided to land. After starting to walk, I got a ride back to my car from the folks who just moved in at 2237 Moose Rd, on the right side of the road close to the farm with the LZ. They are very friendly, and said we could land on their property anytime.
Great afternoon. Pity that I had to be alone.

Interesting story Lazlo. Great that everything turned out good. Your post reminded me of the stories posted by Ed Reno.
