Smithsburg.1/28

Post by hepcat1989 »

I arrived at Cheese hill around 1 to see Richards class packing up . I was meeting Mike L. and Rhonda there to get some practice in. Eddie Miller and a few other RC pilots were there soaring the hill and having Combat! I hung out, set up and talked to Rusty and a few other of Richard's students. Janni was there earlier and was practicing and then went up to High Rock to see what was what. I got in a few flights as well as Mike. All we had to do was take a half a step and we were up. 15-20 easy! It was starting to come in from the NW that made the landing zone kind of junky.(Dumping over the trees) I had fun, made some passes on the hill , stayed up and out! Man, that hill is in good shape this year!
Peace, Shawn.

NW at Smithsburg

Smithsburg faces NW-- how can it be junkie over the trees when it's blowing NW??? The treeline is a couple of fields over away from the hill.

Well, I'm going by what Eddie told me yesterday. He said it's more of a WNW coming up through. NW-N starts to dump over those big pines behind the houses. It was switching back and forth fromW-NW. That's all.
Hope to see ya out there soon.
Shawn.
