Hi Guys,
This has ben a strange year down here and I have been jealous reading all your flight reports of great soaring in warm, autumn like conditions while we were either blown out or being rained on. Well today was finally different. I launched just after 1:00 (with Bo Hagewood flying the tug) into light southerly winds, pinned off at 1700' and quickly climbed out to about 4500'. About 8 or 10 of us had a great time hanging out around Quest for a couple of hours before landing just before 4:00 to register for this years Flytec Comp. I considered an XC but chose not to go because of an encroaching area of high clouds which strangely didn't seem to shut down the lift After flying, several of us had pasta in Clermont to top off the day.
Dr. Jack says there's more of the same coming for tomorrow and Lauren thinks she has healed enough to get back in the air. We'll let you know.

OK, Jim.
We promise to have it brain dead soarable by the time you get here. BTW, yesterday it looked VERY overcast but there was great lift everywhere. Today looked real decent but was pretty crappy? A bunch of us launched around 1:15 and were back on the ground in about a half hour. About an hour later I was thinking the sky looked better and was considering a re-launch but then decided it was too late. About 10 minutes later I looked up to see an ATOS VX and two flex wings overhead. Pretty sure it was Mike Barber and friends from Wallaby. They climbed under a cloud overhead then turned back south for the trip home. Damn!!!!! I hate it when that happens.
