Flying on Sat30Dec : NW day after all?

Had been pretty bummed out by the forecasts for the weekend, but
after checking the ADDs 3k for tomorrow afternoon:

suddenly things look Rockable, or even Stockable. What are people
thinking?

Because is my last flying weekend in at least month

i'm up for flying tomorrow. It's just a matter of what forecast

we believe in. It looks more HR looking at meteorograms.

I'll check again in the morning

Don't let the DC-area fog get you down! The satellite image
looks pretty encouraging : much clearer to the west.

All the upper level forecasts still claim cranking W/WNW by 2pm,
then going NW.

Surface 'casts are W@5 .

Gamble on the Pulpit?

It's a little after 10AM and it's decked over here in Chambersburg. The weather channel says WNW @5 this afternoon. I talked to Mark C. this morning and he said winds aloft will be strong! If'in you want to try the Pulpit, I'm in.......

So it looks like Carlos, Dave, and I are all willing to give
it a try.... I've talked to Shawn, and he said he can swing
by the Pulpit anytime (25 minutes away for him).

So how about we give Pulpit a try? That's four pilots
for crew: launch two, they fly, then back up to launch
the others.

Ok, we four are in, going to gamble on that 3k 'cast.
There's always High Rock to fall back on....

ETAs are around 1:00, though Shawn might be able
to be there closer to noon, for a report of what's happening
on the ramp.

Not a bad day considering the inauspicious forecast. I launched first and lawn darted to the secondary. Then Carlos lawn darted to the primary. (I guess that's the difference between a Falcon and a U2.)

Eventually, Janni showed up. Mark C. launched and stayed up, followed by me, then Janni. I played down opposite the primary. The lift wasn't as good there, so after about 15 minutes I went to land. Mark and Janni were having too much fun up toward launch, so they didn't come down until near sunset. Burgers and brew at the Mountain House, then the long ride home. Thanks to Carlos for picking me up twice.

Mark, I hope there's a stray harness in your vehicle.

I'm glad you guys got some flying in. As soon as I got to launch I called Mark and Janni about conditions. I then received a call from my wife. I had to go.She had to pull over on 81 with her hazards on.Kind of like a panic attack I figure. Rapid heart beat, sweating, tunnel vision. I don't know man.....Something wasn't right. She knew I was flying, so by her calling me it was serious. I'm keeping an eye on her today as well...I'll catch you guys on the flip side.
