Fisher Rd.

Post by hepcat1989 »

I went today to seek out the owner's of the lz. I arrived around 12:30 at launch to find straight in cycles @10-15. I then went down to the lz. Nobody around. I called Steve Kinsley. He told me they own a shop heading towards Bedford. I went to find this shop. I found the shop and found them both there. I went in and had a talk about flying there. He said OK until May when they plant crop. His wife didn't seem to receptive.. I left there with the understanding that we could fly there until May. Bill even asked me if we could get him up in the air, but his wife quickly chimed in that there will be none of that!.
I left all stoked that we could fly there, when on the road I get a phone call from the owner. He thought it over and he wanted his privacy. ( nobody flying over his house and nobody spooking the deer). Big deer feeders on his property. It wasn't about liability at all. Sucks..........................
Sorry, I tried...........................
Peace, Shawn.

Well, it looks like it's time to check out Bethel (South Site) just east of Harrisburg. Flown by the SAC gang of the Gorries, MacDuff, Beck, Rogers, etc. Gotta check with Joe Gorrie to see what the rules are. Thanks Shawn.

Hey, thanks for trying Shawn. Privacy is hard to work around. Not sure I'd want a bunch of yahoos I don't know traipsing all over my property either.

Thanks for trying, Shawn. You did the best possible job of diplomacy. Sometimes, "no" means "no" and we just have to accept that. - Hugh

Janni, I don't know man....They want their privacy. That's why they bought that property...I think he has plans for the LZ, Crops and a building.I guess CHGPA could stick their foot in the door and try again. Good luck with that Janni.

Hey Shawn,

thanks for trying. Please don't take this the wrong way but I really wish you would have consulted with CHGPA before you went ahead on your own. We had a plan and yours talking to them, regardless of how much everybody including myself appreciates that, kinda ruined it. Now it would indeed look like blunt bribery. Owned!

Janni, I didn't go there buddy... It's been what 2yrs since I had been there.... I just remember what was said to me...
If you would like to try bribery ,i'll ride shotgun with ya to keep an eye on the strongbox.I think something for The Mrs. there would be the key. I think she was the deceiding factor.
Let's ride!
