AKA Brian's going away party. Luckily, few photos exist of the night's activities. And I'm not going to give a "flight report" either. If you weren't there, too bad.

I do want to thank the Hays for hosting the party last night. I don't know Rich and Leigh as well as most members of the community, so I'm still surprised what a wonderful job of hosting they do, and how effortless they make it seem. I (and my absent wife and local law enforcement authorities) especially appreciate the night's accomodations. To top it off, I awoke sometime before 10 and found breakfast makings on the kitchen counter. I had to get home ASAP, because I neglected to phone home the night before, (Sorry if any of your cell phones have messages inquiring about my whereabouts.) so I simply slithered off.

If I ever plan on getting stinkin' drunk again, I'll make sure to do it at Rich's house. I'll let all my friends know, too.

You know it's been a good party when even the cats are puking on the carpet the next day. I woke up that morning covered with bruises and abrasions, wondering if it all really happened. For the first few hours it was like a typical MHGA meeting for the last year or so, except for a larger attendence. Then sometime after midnight I found myself wrestling another guy's girlfriend. Then two guy's girlfriends were wrestling each other, and nobody so fit to intervene. This was interspersed by 3 rounds of naked fire jumping. And all through the night a beautiful blonde kept popping up beside me, evaluating my inebriation level, and if insufficient would ply me with shots of jagermeister. I'm not even stretching the truth; if anything I'm doing it a disservice by leaving too much out. Around 5:30 in the morning there were still a half dozen of us left, mainly in the hot tub. The body count was horrific.

I'd like to thank everyone who came, and most of of Richard and Leigh for throwing the best damn party I have ever had. Can't believe their house is still standing. Thanks guys!

Also from our address, thank you so much Leigh and Richard. It truly was the best party we've ever had. As the night grew into wee hours the hot tub became bigger and bigger until I realized there was plenty of space for 25 people in there, so I hopped in. My blurred memory recalls someone freaking out because he saw a bear in the tub, but when I spoke up things quickly became peaceful again.
Thanks for having made this wonderful night happen.

Thanks to all who attended Brians' going away party. It was truly a classic event. Kinda like having Hyner View in my own back yard. LOL. Finally got to bed I think around sunrise. Wow. Gotta do this again! Heeheehe.

Speaking of classics; Brian will be sorely missed. His energy and enthusiasm is going to be our loss and New Yorks' gain. He's all made us better by knowing him. I think Brian should be inducted into the MHGA-CHGPA Hanggliding Hall of Fame. * hey...cool idea. Hmmmmm. Thoughts? *

And....I've never known a more fun group of people in my life. Again; thanks to all for attending, helping and for bringing all the goodies too!

I gotta chime in on the GREAT PARTAY theme, it was a total blast!
Hyner-away-from-Hyner sums it up pretty damn well, but hosted
in a fine home by two accomplished masters, Leigh and Richard.
Kudos to them for making Brian's send-off one that will be remembered.

Quote of the night (paraphrasing):

Richard: Damn, why are you going to New York? F@ck New York!

Brian: I'll f@ck as much of New York as I can, but it's a big place.

:P
