I'd forgotten how long that drive to Daniel's seems. Lots of hours
behind the wheel and a sore back.... But it was worth it!!!

The flags all the way down looked great, but of course when I
arrived at the LZ it was super light, and a bunch of PGers had
sledded. "Oh great, another one of those days" .

I gave Lazslo and Noah a ride up, and saw that a bonafide cycle
was blowing though at launch. Not a lot, but more than many a time
I've been up there.

Tom C was soaring, and remained up while I threw the glider together.
Conditions improved the entire time, so I was pretty motivated to jump
off the hill.

Lazslo and Noah launched, to brief (?) soaring flights. Then Stephane,
Charlie, and another pilot arrived. I launched after seeing that Charlie
was doing pretty well, but almost blew it by trying to kick into the
boot when I should have been concentrating on the air.
Took a hard right, scratched for a bit, but luckily found enough to claw
my way above the ridge.

Once that was done, it was brain dead soarable all day. All the PG pilots
(maybe 6 total?) soared. Nelson was the only other HGer, and he had a
great day. My own flight was close to 3 hours, topping out 700' to 800'
over most of the time, with an occasional 1000'.

I got to explore the ridge and out into the valley more than I've ever
done before, very cool. Watched sunset from the air then put it down
in the LZ.

No gloves! No jacket! What an unexpectedly nice mid-November flight.

PS: Hated to miss the Highland Chili Cook-Off, but it had been a while
since my last flight and I needed some airtime!

--- You flew the day before and the previous Sunday! And you get three times the airtime as any other local pilot!!!!
