I'm hoping to fly either Thursday or Friday, depending
on how that frontal passage shakes out. At the moment,
I'm hoping for Woodstock on Thursday. Have to put in
a 1/2-day at work, so ETA would be about 1:00pm .
Bruce is also thinking about it... Anyone else?

A really nice day at the Stocker!
Four pilots up from Kitty Hawk had arrived, set up, and launched
by the time Bruce and I hiked our gliders in. Couldn't get out of
work until 11:45, so it wasn't until about 1:45 that we got up there.
Nelson was nearly ready to go, so we gave him a hand. Then
Bruce had a go (his first mtn launch since King, yay!!), and I
jumped off last at around 3:00. Some strong cycles on launch,
but very mellow and prolonged lulls too. Everyone had good
launches.
And everyone had great flights too. Brain! Dead! Soarable!
I got a couple hours, topped out at 2100' above launch once, and
hung out at the gap a while hoping to find something that would
get me across (no dice). Definitely should have headed that way
sooner....
Nelson jumped to Short and watched sunset from there, and then
jumped back. I zoomed around from finger to finger, pushed
out into the valley as far as I could, and got to enjoy another of
those spin-in-the-sun-and-moonrise flights. There was even a bit of
fall color left, contrasting nicely with the evergreens.
Great day!! Might even do it again tomorrow if I can weasel out
of work, hee-hee-hee.
