Meeting Tomorrow Reminder

Post by Matthew »

Hey All,

Don't forget the meeting tomorrow. It will be the last meeting we'll have with Brian VH before he moves to NYC. So if you don't come to the meeting, you will break his heart.

Don't break Brian's heart!!!

The CHGPA home page should have the new meeting date but it doesn't so potential interested people probably would not know about it!

Web Page

Mark C. does the Web Page. Mark is out of town this week and unavailable to update the web page. He's done the web page since day one-- close to ten years??? I'm sure Mark may be willing to part with the duties of being the webmaster if someone else would step up to the plate.

John's right: half of the reason we have meetings is to give prospective pilots a venue to learn how to get into the sport. It is how a lot of us got started. Mark asked me for details a while back and I dropped the ball. I think we can safely post a yearly schedule now that we've settled on some locations. I'll provide that to Mark and he'll update the site.

For those who have never been there, I once made a rudimentary web page for them, which they promptly ignored. But it has all the needed information:

Speaking of updates, is the roster ever going to be updated? Someone tried to get ahold of me last week and the roster shows a phone number from nearly 3 years ago. Needless to say, they didn't get ahold of me. I asked about this a few months ago ... have we made any progress in pulling together a new roster?

Was the meeting Wednesday? I thought they were on Thursdays?
Is the meeting at the Quarry house? I thought we were using the Virgnia Library?

I seem a little confused...

Quarry House, 4th Wednesday, during the colder months:
October, January & March.

Arlington Central Library with a static glider display, 4th Thursday, during the warmer months:
May & July

Holiday House Party in place of December meeting, location rotates.

Lots of thought went into this: fun factor vs practicality, geographic diversity, availability of free space, space for a glider display, etc.
