The new mag!

Post by mchevalier »

I just got my mag today and my reaction was like what da f@#$ ? Renamed USHPA.AERO ! Not just the web address but the name of the mag. That's a strange one, like those wiggly letters on the front of Hang Gliding mag in the '70s. I must have trashed one of those ballot thingys or something.
Just got an almost new U2 145, and got one flight on it. Yep, it's back to a pig sticker glider for me. 17 pounds lighter than my Stealth 2, 25 less than the Combat. Light and nimble, it's what you need at the high altitude sites here in CO. MC

Mike,
How much do you hook-in at? I'm a little light in my U2 160 (hook in at 195) but it worked OK at high altitude out west... - Hugh

I hook in at 195 also. I tried the 160 and did well on it until I hit some strong stuff and then I got pushed around. It felt a little sluggish on landing aproach. I feel more comforable on the 145 and have been doing well in light air. For the strong stuff we get in the summer here I wouldn't want to fly the 160. U2s seem to be in high demand, if you were to get a 145 you could sell your 160 easily. MC
