I am unable to thank Brian, Matthew and Hugh enough for their crewing, and their commitment to making hang gliding work for the rest of us in need.
A good crowd of pilots and spectators was out today, and the flying was great.
My first mountain launch after my face-to-face discussion with the trees at High Rock last december: with lots (AND LOTS) of help, and encouragement, and input from friends, I had a good launch and stayed up for an hour. Glad to expell that particular gremlin from my stash of monsters in my belfrey.
No altimerter, but there were gliders both above and below me, and I could see over the back to the fields below. Several pilots skyed out, and only decided to come down to avoid the rain we could see approaching across the valley.
Dave Green had a great flight I believe. Mike L. had several excellent flights. Others flying were Steve K, Brian V-H, Matthew, Glen , Dave B., Hugh, Tim H, Dan T..... and I suspect there may have been more.
Per a request in a previous post to this list serve, I passed Danny B's greetings on to Emma Jane when I stopped in afterward, and she had this to say "Tell him to get his biscuits up here!"
I told her them biscuits were getting old, that the fellow had just had another birthday, and was probably celebrating with family today. She thought that Mr. B (for Biscuits? ) could be forgiven in that case.... Happy belated wishes Danny, for many happy returns of the day!
DaVinci got more attention than he earned today: chewed through half the Amish community and the rest of the Sunday onlookers with gusto, then streaked joyfully around the obstacle course of bagged gliders in the LZ at breakdown. Now passed out from a day of fun in the sun (the dog, not me!) - Linda
