WS this Wednesday?

Post by garys »

Finally a 10-15 NW day coming up this Wednesday. Thinking about Woodstock in the afternoon. Any takers? Sorry to have missed the fly-in. Took down a big walnut tree for a neighbor and split it for firewood Saturday morning and paid for it the rest of the weekend with a sore back.

Woodstock Wednesday

I am in too. If there are any H-2's out there, they should consider it. I am an observer. I will be arriving mid afternoon for a glass off flight. Of course, I will check the weather tomorrow and Wednesday am.

I'm debating whether or not to take a half day off tomorrow and just come out to WS with my PG. Not sure if it will be too strong at the end of the day. I couldn't leave work till 1pm. Anyone wanna carpool? I work in Alexandria.

ETA 12:30 to 1:00 in the LZ if anyone wants to coordinate a ride up. Cast has backed off just a bit. Still looks good though.

I am still planning to head out to Woodstock, but may go slightly earlier because things look so promising. If there are any H-2s that want to fly, contact an observer directly ahead of time.

I'm going to do an 8:00 to 3:00 day and take an hour off,
so that I can at least get some late-day soaring in at Woodstock.
See you there, late afternoon.

After been skunk a few times at the mountains, a good day.

Mostly cloudy during my flight, but later it cleared. By the time Gary and I were ready to launch the wind went from almost dead to 90 degree cross, but there were launchable cycles. Sometimes is hard to read the streamers. After launch conditions got consistenly better, by the time I decided to land I had to work my way down. Next time I'll remember' bar mitts'.

Almost in launch order: Hank, Tom, Peter, Kevin, Adam, Gary, Hugh (HG),
John M, Steve K, Mark C, Hugh (PG), Matthew, Yanni and Glen. I think I got everyone.

Thanks to Peter for hauling bodies back to launch.
Good call Gary.
