Pulpit Saturday Official Weather Call-- It's Bill's Hill

Post by Matthew »

Okay everyone. I've been tasked with making the call for where to fly tomorrow. So you can all blame me if the forecast is wrong. The Medium Range Model, the ADDS model and the Meteograms all show NE becoming East late on Saturday. Text forecast says light North. As Bill's is doable in a light North and is good in East, Bill's is the call for where we will be flying on Saturday.

It looks like light NNE winds, a poor lapse rate, and clouds will conspire to make the flying conditions less than ideal for Bill's Hill, the Pulpit, and most of the other flying sites in the mid-Atlantic region. I think it has something to do with planning a fly-in as that seems to guarantee piss-poor flying conditions. Conditions may improve for Sunday with a prediction for west to southwest winds turning more southerly and sunshine.

Drink a few beers for me tonight!

Last years High Rock fly-in was great weather, so was the Pulpit fly-in.
I hope sunday it turns on for all of us!
Will drink a beer or 5 tonight.
Shawn.
