It's now looking NNW on Saturday and West on Sunday. As we all know, Pulpit sucks in a North Cross. If the forecast holds true, are there plans to do the first day of the Fly-In at the Rock? I know a couple of people will be camping out at the Pulpit on Friday night. They can give us a real-time observation on Sat. morning. I can swing by the Rock on the way (again if this is still the forecast) on Sat morning and give a report from there.
Any other prognostications on the weather????

Whether Forcast
I do not have enough exerience to be a Puplit Weather guru, but my best guess is "maybe".
The wind is from the N (bummer) but it is also light (good) and the current 5000ft winds aloft are light. Hopefully they will not strengthen by tomorrow as it seems as a High is moving towards us. We need to hope the high is light enough to not surpress thermals too badly and keeps the winds aloft at bay.
So the N could be overpowered by thermals with launchable cycles depending on the sun strength. But this is variable as the clouds should be thinning around this time. If it happens faster good, if not bad.
I probably would not a hazard a Saturday venture if there was not a fly-in. If it is not launchable, there is always beer and BBQ!
And after a few beers, it is always a good idea to use some powered tools and impliments of destruction to spuce up the launch.
Anybody else want to chip in there experience with pulpit weather?

We'll make a preliminary call this afternoon and try to stick with it for the sake of those who are driving longer distances. I'll leave an outgoing message on my cell phone tomorrow by 9am with the final site call: 301-275-6584.
You don't need a weather forecast to know that we'll be back at the Pulpit Saturday night for the BBQ and charity raffle. Please be there. If you make only one club event a year, it should be this one.
