Wednesday at Quest featured light winds, blue skies (no clouds), and lots of pilots. I knew when the tug plane was getting thrown all over while I towed that it might be good. (It's always reassuring to see that the plane-- weighing much more than me and my little glider-- is being tossed like tomato on salad. NOT. You know you are going to hit the same air a second later.)
And it was SWEEET. I only got to 3510 (Paul got 3600, the bast$#@) but lift was everywhere. Paul, Christy, me, Larry, JP from TN, as well as a few others, were lucky enough to fly. We all landed minutes apart after about 2 hours.
We had a closing on some property at 5:30 so couldn't take off XC, but it would have been the first suitable day in awhile.
Christy left today, since the weather looks questionable (OK, bad) for a couple of days. We are having our little FAI comp attempt again tommorow through Monday so wish us luck for at least 2 flyable days. John Dullahan, John Simon, Mark Fruitiger, and Linda Salamone are all flying in for the occasion. Linda will pick up her her new Litespeed 3S while she is here (she will be arriving in FL very late tonight). Mark called and said he is already at Wallaby but is not even allowed to open up her glider bag. Heeheehee. Sky Goddesses rule!!

sweeet!
I'm on my way back and stopped in for lunch in Savanah and right now am at the little public library just off River/Bay street.?? Thank goodness it was a good day for flying yesterday because after 15 minutes of enjoying the Tangent, it gave me a blank screen. At first I thought it was broken (again), but turned out to be a dead battery. I should have recharged it since charging it back in October....? In any case, it was so brain dead soarable, even I stayed up for another hour and a half. Basil would be proud.
