Oregon Ridge Today??

Post by charlieg »

It looks like Oregon Ridge would be flyable this afternoon. I flew there once on a weekend this past fall with Mark Fink. However, there appears to be a bit of paperwork and advance coordination required to fly there. If I just show up on a cold Sunday, does anyone know if there will be any issues? I tried to contact someone at http://www.mhga.com like the flight says, but the web site seems to be down so I don't know who I'd call.
Thanks,
Charlie

So I went on ahead to Oregon Ridge today and got there around 2:00. Unfortunately, the winds had shifted toward the south, and picked up so there were gusts to 12 - 15, making it unflyable.
All was not for naught, however. I met Richard Hayes, who was there packing up his hang gliders after trying to fly earlier in the day. Great guy. He filled me in on all the details of flying at Oregon Ridge. Also said that he believed that the MHGA web site was down and out.
